I chose this piece of artwork because I have worked hard on it in the past couple of weeks.
This is a tapestry of the USS ALABAMA.
What would you name this picture?
Hey! My name is Sterling and I currently attend The University of South Alabama, and I am in Dr. Strange's EDM 310 Class. I was told to comment on your new blog. Blogging can be very fun and interesting! I hope you continue to enjoy blogging. Your art piece is GREAT! I think that your name should have something to do with history, since the USS Alabama is prevalent in history. Great job, and continue to enjoy blogging!!
I love this picture. The colors, the design, the 3D texture. One question: What if you cropped the picture so you had only one surface showing? Can you do that and not lose something on the major plane? I think so if you turn the picture slightly clockwise. Try it and see. And perhaps post both and take a vote on what your audience likes best. Now a name. Oh my. My imagination must be turned off. You could always resort to "Untitled".
This looks like an art project I did when I was in school. We stuck pieces of tissue paper on the bottom of our pencil and then glued it onto paper to make a picture out of tissue paper. What about naming it... Unfinished Business
Hey. I am from Dr. Strange's EDM310 course at the University of South Alabama. I really like your picture! I am a huge fan of artwork. I used to do pencil drawing when I was in school but recently I haven't had alot of free time. I like the creativity that you express in this and that it is something close to home. Keep up the great work! Regina
Hey Ryan, I am Lisa Ferro. I am in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class at USA. I think your rendition of the USS Alabama. I did an assignment where the battleship was my subject. I forget the name of the competition I had to submit it to. When I took Art at my high school, I had a bit of trouble naming my art work, but if this was mine, I'd name it "USS Alabama on Tap" A play on the medium used, but yet it still incorporates the subject into your title. Just a thought. It looks great!
Ryan, My name is Tiffany Morris. I attend the University of South Alabama and am a student of Dr. Strange. I am taking his EDM 310 class. You are very creative. I think it is great that you put so much time and effort into your work. It really shows how much you enjoy it.
That is a gorgeous tapestry. It is coming along nicely. To me,this tapestry looks like a cartoonized picture of the Battleship.
ReplyDeleteYou should name it My Outline of the USS ALABAMA.
ReplyDeleteGood Job:)
I cannot wait to see the finished piece.
